CAD Workshop with Lambert High School

CAD, or computer-aided design, is essentially online modeling. 2d and 3d shapes can be created through these systems. At Riverwatch, Lambert High School paid a visit to teach current members of TSA this process through a workshop. In this workshop, the designing software used was Onshape. The students from Lambert gave instructons on how to use this system, as well as aiding many people with their first designs. There was even a challenge design that people had to create on Onshape, which many succeeded at. Overall, this workshop was a fun and challenging experience that allowed students to learn and develop their skills in online designing.

Student Reviews:

Divijaa - The workshop was really fun and I learned a lot about online design.

Meshva - I’m so glad someone finally taught us the basics of online design.

Water Tower Competition

Riverwatch Middle School recently hosted the Forsyth County Model Water Tower Competition which was sponsored by the Forsyth County Department of Water & Sewer. Students had the opportunity to interact with water professionals about the variety of professions in the water industry. They also got the opportunity to make a model water tower to showcase to the judges in an interview. Their towers were also put through various tests such as structural stability, hydraulics, dimensions, and a materials list review. Many of the students here at Riverwatch inside and outside of TSA participated in this. The winners and their photos are presented below.
